Job Description

As a Bellperson at Hotel Equities in Winters, CA, you provide attentive porter services that support guest satisfaction and comfort. Under general supervision, you respond promptly and courteously to guest requests, assist with luggage and deliveries, and contribute to a welcoming hotel experience.

Role Overview

Under general supervision, this position focuses on delivering warm, knowledgeable service. Your guidance and responsiveness help reassure guests and support their stay from arrival through departure.

Key Responsibilities

  • Greet guests upon arrival, help unload luggage from the vehicle, and transport luggage to guest rooms either by hand or using a luggage cart.
  • Assist guests upon departure by transporting luggage from the room to the lobby and helping load luggage into the vehicle.
  • Deliver laundry, newspapers, iron and ironing board, additional linens, and similar requests in person as needed, while maintaining a written log of requests and deliveries.
  • Handle guest inquiries and provide information about hotel products and services both in person and on the telephone by explaining relevant offerings.
  • Provide up-to-date hotel information to strengthen customer relations.
  • Stay informed on local activities and area establishments to answer questions, recommend options, and give directions.
  • Maintain a friendly, cheerful, and courteous demeanor at all times.
  • Point out fire exits, explain usage of the TV and A/C, and provide ice to guests.
  • Deliver newspapers nightly to all occupied rooms.
  • Perform other duties as assigned, requested, or deemed necessary by management.
  • Clean lobby areas, courtyard, and entrances, keeping these spaces free of debris to support a clean and attractive facility.
  • Comply with the hotel conduct policy and maintain proper appearance, including being well groomed, in uniform, and wearing a name tag at all times.
  • Support department performance through motivation and constant communication to help ensure assigned duties are carried out.
  • Provide assistance to other employees and departments to contribute to the overall performance of the department and the hotel.

Required Qualifications

  • High School diploma / Secondary qualification or equivalent.
  • Experience with hospitality industry processes, operational procedures, and brand standards across major hotel organizations.
  • Ability to communicate verbally, understand verbal instructions, and follow them.
  • Ability to use tact and understanding when handling a variety of customer service problems.
  • Passion for people and service.
  • Strong communication skills for interacting with guests and employees.
  • Reading and writing abilities used frequently for completing paperwork and logging issues, complaints, requests, and information updates.
  • Basic math skills used frequently when handling cash or credit.
  • Problem-solving, reasoning, motivating, and training abilities used often.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and/or holidays.

Location: Winters, CA (onsite)

Compensation

Hourly Rate: USD 16 to USD 18 per hour
