Count Team Member

The Count Team Member role at Ameristar Casino Hotel Vicksburg supports secure, accurate currency handling for auditing and restricted-area processing. This position focuses on collecting, counting, sorting, wrapping, and transporting funds while following key control procedures and maintaining strict confidentiality.

Vicksburg, MS 39180 (onsite)

Pay Information

• USD 11 per hourly
• Starting pay: $11.75 an hour, based on experience

Education and Experience

• High School Diploma or equivalent required
• Associate degree and/or training preferred
• Or an equivalent combination of education and experience
• Prior currency count experience preferred

Key Responsibilities

• Adhere to all departmental and property policies and procedures related to guest service standards.
• Collect, count, sort, and wrap currency.
• Participate in transferring currency off the floor.
• Transport currency to the restricted area for counting.
• Ensure required key control procedures are followed.
• Operate currency counters, adding machines, and other auditing-related functions.
• Complete daily maintenance of Count Room equipment and perform cleaning of the Count Room.
• Work professionally with other departments to complete assigned tasks.
• Ensure company assets are properly accounted for and secured.
• Perform other related and compatible duties as assigned.
• Maintain strict confidentiality in all company matters.

Requirements

• Ability to follow directions repeatedly, precisely, and without deviation.
• Good written and verbal communication skills; fluent and literate in English.
• Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality and professionalism.
• Basic math skills, including ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide.
• Data entry and computer skills required.
• Ability to work in restricted quarters.
• Ability to maintain a high level of energy and take a proactive and strategic approach to issues.
• Ability to collaborate and communicate effectively with team members at all organizational levels.
• Ability to work with interruptions.
