Hotel Housekeeper

Belvedere Inn Hotel/DoubleTree Schenectady is seeking a Hotel Housekeeper to support day-to-day cleanliness and guest comfort through consistent, high-standard sanitation. This onsite role in Schenectady, NY focuses on thorough room and public area upkeep, safe chemical handling, and accurate cleaning documentation.

Key Responsibilities

• Complete thorough cleaning of guest rooms, bathrooms, corridors, and public areas using appropriate cleaning techniques and equipment.
• Use cleaning agents and chemicals safely by following established safety and chemical handling protocols.
• Vacuum carpets, sweep and mop floors, and perform floor care to keep areas looking spotless.
• Perform heavy lifting tasks, such as moving furniture or large supplies, using proper manual handling techniques.
• Restock amenities, linens, and supplies to support both guest comfort and smooth operations.
• Follow hotel emergency procedures promptly if incidents or safety concerns arise.
• Maintain sanitation standards by completing cleaning on a regular schedule and documenting cleaning activities.

Requirements

• Strong customer service skills to interact professionally with guests and team members.
• Knowledge of hotel safety protocols.
• Ability to perform manual handling tasks safely, including heavy lifting and prolonged standing or walking.
• Housekeeping management practices knowledge is advantageous.
• Familiarity with cleaning equipment such as vacuums and other janitorial tools is desirable.
• Previous janitorial or custodial experience in a hotel or hospitality setting is preferred.
• Experience in hospitality or hotel housekeeping roles will help you maintain high standards of cleanliness and guest satisfaction.
