Hotel Maintenance Engineer

This full-time Maintenance Engineer role at Candlewood Suites Alabaster is an onsite position in Alabaster, AL. The role offers a competitive starting wage of $17.00 per hour, along with an employee discount, a flexible schedule, and paid time off. You will contribute to reliable property operations and guest comfort by keeping energy systems, plumbing, electrical, and HVAC functioning smoothly.

Location: Alabaster, AL (onsite). This is a full-time, in-person role.

Responsibilities

• Respond to maintenance requests promptly and prioritize tasks by urgency
• Perform minor repairs such as fixing broken locks, replacing light bulbs, plunging toilets, and changing air filters
• Inspect control panels and electrical wiring to identify issues
• Install appliances and equipment including refrigerators, microwaves, and PTAC units
• Program televisions
• Maintain maintenance inventory and requisition parts and supplies
• Inspect and troubleshoot equipment and systems such as ventilation
• Verify the functionality of safety systems such as fire alarms
• Provide excellent customer service to guests and coworkers

Requirements

• Strong mechanical knowledge and experience in facilities maintenance
• Basic knowledge of HVAC, plumbing and electrical systems
• Experience using hand and electrical tools
• Ability to read technical manuals and drawings
• Very good communication and interpersonal skills
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Valid Driver's License (Required)
