House Attendant

Residence Inn Hotel is hiring a part-time House Attendant for onsite work in Jersey City, NJ. In this role, you will support the timely upkeep of both guestrooms and public spaces by following established housekeeping procedures and maintaining the property interior and exterior for guest arrival.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain efficient and effective cleaning and maintenance of the property, including interior and exterior areas.
• Follow all housekeeping SOPs as required.
• Provide senior management with important information as needed.
• Relay guest complaints to the General Manager when necessary.
• Report on time and arrive promptly, ready to perform assigned tasks.
• Practice ongoing awareness of safety and security while working.
• Maintain a friendly and courteous approach with guests at all times.
• Clean and remove spots from corridor walls and doors.
• Polish and clean mirrors, room number areas on guest room doors, and elevator doors.
• Keep public areas immaculately maintained.
• Vacuum, sweep, and/or mop hallways, stairwells, vending areas, and foyers.
• Remove trash from assigned areas.
• Flip mattresses and move furniture when assigned by the supervisor.
• Ensure public bathrooms are well stocked, checking supply stock every hour.
• Maintain proper levels of housekeeping supplies, including cleaning supplies, linens, and cleaning equipment.
• Run laundry efficiently and assist with laundry removal.
• Assist with maintenance duties when required.
• Ensure guestrooms are cleaned thoroughly and in time for guest arrival.
• Maintain rooms and their contents as required and report maintenance issues to the General Manager.
• Replenish used supplies in guestrooms.
• Perform other job-related duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Ability to communicate in English.
• Self-starting personality with an even disposition.
• Maintain professional appearance and manner at all times.
• Ability to communicate effectively with guests.
• Willingness to pitch in and support coworkers; team player mindset.
• Ability to lift, bend, stoop, walk, push or pull heavy equipment, and stand for extended periods.
• Lifting may include equipment or furniture weighing up to 100 lbs.
• Ability to comprehend and follow instructions from a supervisor.
