Houseperson

Join The Goodwin Hotel onsite in Hartford, CT as a Houseperson supporting hotel cleanliness and smooth day-to-day service.

Responsibilities

• Keep housekeeping closets fully stocked on guest floors.
• Assist housekeeping with removing trash and recyclables from guest floors.
• Deliver housekeeping supplies to team members as needed.
• Respond promptly to requests from guests, supervisors, and management.
• Remove dirty linens from guest floors, transport to the laundry area, and deliver clean linens to storage locations.
• Dust, polish, and straighten furnishings in public areas.
• Maintain public area cleanliness, including bathrooms, lobby, rooftop, and other assigned spaces.
• Ensure assigned light fixtures and appliances are in proper working condition.
• Vacuum carpets and/or mop floors as assigned.
• Complete special projects including deep cleaning, high cleaning, floor care, and flipping mattresses.
• Follow all company policies, safety procedures, and security procedures.
• Report maintenance issues and any safety hazards.
• Greet, acknowledge, and welcome guests according to company service standards.
• Anticipate guest service needs and follow through on requests.
• Support other departments and fellow housekeeping staff as needed.
• Perform additional duties as directed by management.
• Housemen duties: assist the housekeeping department with cleaning common areas.
• Handle guest requests and inquiries.
• Coordinate with other personnel for guest assistance and concerns.
• Attend daily department briefing sessions to review assignments, notices, and hotel information.
• Deliver clean linen to linen closets based on established floor par stock levels.
• Collect dirty linen and garbage throughout the shift at regular times.
• Dispose of garbage according to hotel standards.
• Report any known linen losses or misused linen immediately.
• Assist with processing hotel and guest linen and laundry.
• Move hotel furniture as required by a manager or supervisor.
• Receive, collect, and deliver housekeeping supplies and store them in assigned areas.
• Maintain cleanliness in corridors, elevators, staircases, and linen closets.
• Assist with deep cleaning sessions when requested by the Housekeeping Manager.
• Report health and safety maintenance concerns to the Housekeeping Manager.
• Support Room Attendants by cleaning and servicing all hotel public areas, including the main lobby and hotel front entrance.

Requirements

• Ability to remain on your feet for extended periods.
• Previous experience in Housekeeping and Hospitality is preferred.
• Flexibility to work weekends and holidays is required.
• Ability to bend, squat, kneel, and lift up to 30 pounds.
• Ability to work evenings and weekends is required.
