Lead Housekeeper

At The Anza Hotel in Calabasas, CA, this onsite Lead Housekeeper role supports the Executive Housekeeper by leading the housekeeping team and helping maintain consistently clean, well-ordered spaces for guests. The position includes supervising day-to-day operations, inspecting rooms and public areas, and guiding staff to uphold safety, hygiene, and hotel quality standards while reinforcing the company culture.

Role Overview

The primary focus of the Lead Housekeeper is to provide support to the Executive Housekeeper, supervise and direct housekeeping staff, and ensure cleanliness, orderliness, and guest satisfaction. Duties include assigning tasks, inspecting guestrooms and public areas, training team members, and performing Room Attendant and/or House Attendant responsibilities as needed, with ongoing attention to safety and hygiene compliance.

Key Responsibilities

• Demonstrate knowledge, understanding, and adherence to Company Core Values, Mission Statement, and Ayres Way.
• Follow company policies in the Team Member Handbook.
• Collaborate with other departments to fulfill guest requests and support operational efficiency.
• Respond to maintenance needs by reporting issues to the appropriate personnel and completing work orders, as needed.
• Inspect rooms and verify/report room status and any discrepancies, entering information into the property management system as needed.
• Perform Room Attendant and/or House Attendant duties as needed.
• Assist with training Room Attendants as needed.
• Maintain the Housekeeping department minimum standards.
• Support staff scheduling by helping prepare work schedules and arranging replacements for absences.
• Plan, organize, and monitor staff assignments to meet hotel quality assurance standards.
• Distribute and communicate staff work assignments effectively, both verbally and in writing, to provide clear direction for housekeeping and laundry tasks.
• Delegate workload to support maximum productivity and guest satisfaction while minimizing labor and material waste, and monitor house count for staffing adjustments.
• Assist with issuance of keys and maintain inventory and security of keys.
• Operate within established labor standards.

Requirements

Experience

• Hotel: 2 years (Preferred)
• Housekeeping: 2 years (Preferred)
