Maintenance Technician

The Wildbirch Hotel in Anchorage, AK is seeking a skilled, hands-on Maintenance Technician to help keep the property operating smoothly for both guests and staff. This onsite role combines independent troubleshooting with hands-on preventive maintenance across key building systems and equipment.

Responsibilities

• Carry out routine inspections and preventive maintenance for HVAC, refrigeration, kitchen appliances, and mechanical systems
• Diagnose and repair equipment throughout the property using schematics and technical manuals to identify root causes
• Install new appliances, HVAC units, refrigeration systems, and mechanical components according to manufacturer specifications and safety standards
• Troubleshoot complex mechanical issues efficiently, guided by diagnostics and technical drawings
• Safely operate company vehicles for on-site repairs, deliveries, and errands as needed
• Maintain clear, accurate maintenance logs, service records, and incident reports
• Collaborate with the team on maintenance projects and process improvements that support smooth hotel operations

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Service or Maintenance Technician, with strong knowledge in appliance repair, HVAC/R, refrigeration, or mechanical systems
• Comfort reading schematics, technical manuals, and electrical diagrams
• Hands-on HVAC/AC repair experience plus appliance installation or maintenance know-how
• Familiarity with MRO (maintenance, repair, and operations) practices
• Strong mechanical troubleshooting skills with a methodical approach to problem-solving
• Solid communication skills and comfort working with team members and, when needed, guests
• A valid driver’s license and a safe track record operating company vehicles
• A collaborative, lead-by-example mindset

As the Maintenance Technician, you will be the go-to on shift to help ensure equipment is working properly. Your work supports a seamless guest experience and gives the team the tools they need to deliver day-to-day service at a high standard.

Compensation: USD 22–28 per hour.
