Room Attendant - Housekeeper
Job Description
Join the housekeeping team onsite in Washington, DC to keep guest rooms clean, comfortable, and aligned with established standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Welcome guests with a warm, friendly greeting when interacting.
- Clean assigned guest rooms to meet standards within the required time frame, including sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, and vacuuming.
- Replace bed linens and refresh towels and other amenities.
- Dust and clean surfaces, then clean and polish furniture and fixtures.
- Identify room issues and notify management when repairs are needed.
- Handle items left behind in rooms by following the hotel lost and found policy.
- Use safe work habits, wear required protective safety equipment, and follow MSDS and OSHA standards.
- Step in to perform house person and lobby attendant duties when the team is short staffed or during peak periods.
- Monitor guest satisfaction scores and support efforts to improve departmental and overall guest satisfaction.
- Ensure overall guest satisfaction through consistent room readiness.
- Complete additional duties as assigned by management.
Requirements
- High school diploma preferred.
- Previous housekeeping experience required or equivalent training.
- Ability to understand and communicate in English.

- Work schedule varies and may include holidays and weekends.
- Physical demands include standing for extended periods, walking, pushing and pulling, reaching, bending, squatting, kneeling, and lifting up to 20 pounds, plus use of cleaning chemicals.
