Job Description
Seasonal Houseperson / Public Area Attendant (onsite) at The Vineta Hotel in Palm Beach, FL.
Responsibilities
- Clean and replenish assigned public areas, including corridors, elevators and landings, stairwells, balconies, patios, public bathrooms, restaurants, pool area, offices, and service areas on guest room floors.
- Maintain standards aligned with Leading Quality Assurance (LQA) and the company’s elevated expectations.
- Remove trash; wipe down shelves and counters; sweep and mop floors.
- Identify and remove non-floor closet items and move them to the correct storage areas.
- Provide linen supplies in a timely manner and keep floor closets stocked.
- Deliver and retrieve requested items for guests and room attendants.
- Support guest arrivals and departures by transporting guest luggage to and from rooms with careful handling.
- In collaboration with Engineering, check that equipment is functioning properly and support maintenance needs.
- Before entering or intervening in a room (cleaning, maintenance, linen delivery, etc.), ensure the guest is not present, or if present, that privacy is respected.
- Transport room service trays and items along guest hallways to the appropriate location.
- Maintain communication and good working relationships across hotel departments to support teamwork.
- Coordinate with Front Office, Maintenance, and Food and Beverage on room readiness and cleaning schedules for special events and high-traffic areas.
- Follow health and safety regulations, including proper handling and storage of cleaning chemicals and equipment.
- Wear the appropriate uniform and PPE for the assigned cleaning tasks.
- Inspect furniture for dust, debris, foreign particles, tears, rips, and stains; clean, remove, and report damages to the supervisor.
- Inspect and clean high-touch and visible areas, including picture frames, mirrors, fire extinguisher boxes, exit signs, air vents, windows, baseboards, corners, ledges, phones, drapes, doors, planters and plants, lamps, light fixtures, and light switches.
- Polish brass surfaces to a high gloss.
- Support security by ensuring proper access to guest rooms and hotel property.
- Turn in lost and found items to the supervisor.
- Install cleaned or new drapes; make up cribs and rollaway beds and transport them to designated rooms.
- Turn mattresses and box springs according to the rotation schedule.
- Maintain inventory in storage closets for cleaning supplies, linens, and equipment; complete requisitions for low inventory and submit to the supervisor.
- Drive the company vehicle to and from storage and the laundry facility to pick up and deliver linen and supplies.
- Review and prioritize assignment checklists; ensure duties are completed and properly closed before leaving for the day.
- Model professional personal appearance and hygiene standards to reflect a positive guest experience.
Requirements
- Minimum 1 year of work experience in a similar capacity with understanding of luxury hotel service standards.
- High school graduate or equivalent vocational training.
- Valid, unrestricted, and insurable Florida Driver’s License in good standing.
- Ability to comprehend, read, write, and speak basic English, including workplace policies, job instructions, departmental and safety information; ability to communicate clearly with guests and hotel colleagues.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including days, evenings, overnights, weekends, and holidays.
- Ability to access and navigate each department across the organization’s facilities.
- Frequent ability to walk, stand, bend, stoop, kneel, climb, crawl, and handle objects and equipment.
- Ability to push, pull, grasp, lift, or carry items up to 50 lbs.

Salary: USD 18–20 per hour.
