Turndown Attendant

La Bahia Hotel and Spa in Santa Cruz, CA is seeking a Turndown Attendant to help shape an effortless in-room experience each evening. This part-time role focuses on signature turndown service, crisp cleanliness, and careful documentation of guest preferences to support future stays.

This position is onsite in Santa Cruz, with compensation of $23.62 per hour (USD 23 - 62 per hourly range provided). The ideal candidate brings 2 years of experience and can consistently deliver detail-forward service while following established safety and “silent service” protocols.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform signature turndown service to exact standards, including duvet folding at a 45-degree angle with custom chocolate placement, and pillow adjustments based on firm/soft preferences.
• Position slippers bedside with soles facing outward, and create a mood-focused room environment by drawing curtains with precise folds.
• Set lighting to 25% to match the evening ambiance.
• Refresh ice buckets using the hotel’s signature crystal carafes.
• Restock minibar items using guest preference data.
• Lightly spritz pillow mist on linens.
• Coil charging cables in leather holders.
• Ensure nightstand water carafes are filled to 80% capacity and include a lemon wedge.
• Follow silent service practices, including no knocking after 9:30 PM, using PMS occupancy alerts; fold any discarded clothing using Savile Row techniques.
• Document guest preferences (for example, extra blankets or opened windows) to carry forward for future stays.
• Complete evening refresh cleaning by removing traces of day service (such as empty glasses and used towels), vacuuming high-traffic areas with noise-controlled equipment, and aligning items according to geometric placement standards.
• Maintain impeccable grooming, wearing the assigned uniform exactly as specified for proper fit, cleanliness, and presentation.
• Wear the official hotel lapel pin prominently as required (unless it is embroidered onto the uniform).
• Perform other duties assigned by your manager as needed.

Requirements

• (2) years of experience.
• Endurance to stand for long periods and walk moderate distances.
• Ability to knee and bend for long periods throughout shifts.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Comfort working in varying lighting conditions.
• Capability to lift, push, and pull a moderate amount of weight, up to 50 lbs.
• Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Strong organization and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
• Must be able to commute to Santa Cruz, CA 95060.
