AM Houseperson
Job Description
As an AM Houseperson onsite role with Merete Hotel Management in Roseburg, OR, you will support guest satisfaction by assisting the Front Desk and Housekeeping teams. The position includes cleaning and resetting public spaces, maintaining supplies, and communicating key issues to your supervisor.
Key Responsibilities
- Clean and vacuum hallways and other public areas.
- Stock linen closets with clean linen.
- Retrieve soiled linen from housekeeping carts and empty trash on carts.
- Move furniture and assist with rotating mattress arrangements.
- Set up and tear down meeting rooms as needed.
- Report all maintenance and repair needs.
- Report all damage, vandalism, and missing hotel property.
- Deliver special items to guests (including baby cribs, rollaway beds, microwaves, and refrigerators).
- Communicate with a supervisor regarding guest requests and problems.
- Report all unsafe conditions immediately.
- Complete other duties as assigned by the manager.
Regular and reliable attendance and punctuality are essential functions of this position. Treating others with respect at all times and maintaining a positive, productive approach that supports teamwork are essential functions of this job.
Required Qualifications
- Physically able to perform cleaning duties.
- Lift and carry an average weight of 30 lbs frequently and a maximum weight of 50 lbs frequently.
- Stand and walk up to two miles per day on cement, tile, asphalt, and carpet.
- Reach and extend overhead to pull items down.
- Push and pull an average weight of 50 lbs frequently and a maximum weight of 150 lbs.
- Perform repetitive motions, including bending, kneeling, stooping, and twisting.
- Work with and be exposed to fumes, chemicals, vibrations, humidity, cold, heat, dust, and noise.
- Adhere to the Hotel’s safety standards and procedures, including using appropriate hearing, eye, and hand protection for equipment operation.
- Effectively manage time.
- Communicate with guests and team members.
- Adjust to schedule changes and cover shifts on short notice.
- Work a variety of hours and shifts.
- Follow all applicable policies and procedures while working to improve standards of operation.
- Follow all safety procedures and meet or exceed productivity standards set by the manager.
- Demonstrate excellent customer service skills.
- Pass a criminal background check.
