Job Description

As an AV Technician at Golden Nugget Hotel & Casino, you’ll support the day-to-day operation of the property’s in-house audio visual systems and help deliver audio, video, lighting, and signage experiences for guests, performers, and entertainment needs. Working onsite in Lake Charles, LA, you’ll operate and maintain core A/V technologies while coordinating event and guest audio/lighting/video setup under the direction of the Entertainment Manager.

The role covers both technical systems and guest-facing professionalism, including ensuring equipment is ready for daily use and special functions, assisting performers with loading and setup, and supporting custom outlet music scheduling. You’ll also help maintain safe, compliant operations in line with Gaming Commission Regulations, federal and state laws, and company policies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Under the direction of the Entertainment Manager, support all in-house audio visual systems, including digital video distribution, Crestron panels, and CobraNet, along with DSP and related technologies.
  • Operate and support associated technology such as digital signage, TV and other feeds, microphones, and sound systems.
  • Exhibit professional conduct in accordance with all Gaming Commission Regulations, Federal and State laws, and Golden Nugget and departmental policies and procedures.
  • Provide consistent, courteous, and professional guest service to guests, visitors, vendors, and fellow employees.
  • Ensure sound and light equipment is properly set up and functioning for in-house systems, special events, functions, and entertainment.
  • Promptly assist performers with unloading and setting up sound, lighting, and/or video equipment as needed.
  • Assist with in-house audio/lighting/video equipment and coordinate with entertainment groups using their own equipment.
  • Schedule and monitor overhead and outlet music systems and help outlets create custom music.
  • Maintain personal responsibility for company property and equipment.
  • Demonstrate working knowledge of current lighting system equipment and continue building knowledge of new technology.
  • Demonstrate capability to program and operate lighting consoles for both conventional and intelligent lighting fixtures and continue building knowledge of new equipment.
  • Ensure all in-house equipment remains in proper working order.
  • Show the ability to efficiently and accurately wire, plug, patch, and program audio, lighting, and video equipment for productions of any size.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, hazard-free work environment within your area of responsibility.
  • Support responsible gaming and responsible alcohol service by discreetly notifying appropriate management of concerns and observations.
  • Ensure prompt and discreet notification to senior management and/or the Ethics Hotline of any observation of illegal acts and/or internal ethics violations.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED.
  • AA degree in Electronics.
  • One (1) year audio visual experience, or through a minimum of two years progressive A/V and entertainment experience, or an equivalent combination of training, education, and experience demonstrating ability to perform the duties.
