Banquet Houseperson
Job Description
The Banquet Houseperson supports the smooth operation of banquet and meeting events at Live! Casino and Hotel Philadelphia by preparing event spaces, maintaining organization and cleanliness, and handling banquet supplies including linens and related items. This onsite role is based in Philadelphia, PA.
Key Responsibilities
- Set up all banquet meeting rooms and banquet food and beverage functions.
- Prepare event details as outlined on the BEO, by the client, or as directed by your manager, including buffets, plated table sets, audio visual equipment, dance floors, staging, pipe and drape, tables, chairs, linen, and any other specified elements.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization across all banquet facilities and banquet meeting space, with assistance from banquet staff and other departments as needed.
- Transport dirty linens to the correct area for cleaning, separate napkins from tablecloths, and restock linen shelves with clean linens on a routine inventory and care schedule.
- Help manage and care for banquet supplies, including linens, chairs, china, glassware, flatware, and decorations.
Required Availability and Physical Requirements
- Work nights, weekends, and/or holidays as needed.
- Carry and lift items weighing up to 100 pounds.
- Stand and move about the kitchen and dining room safely and efficiently.
- Handle equipment, objects, products, and utensils in the course of event setup and support.
Education and Experience
- Education: High school diploma or GED equivalent (preferred).
- Experience: Two to three years of banquet houseperson experience is preferred.
- Minimum experience: 2 years.
Licenses and Compliance
- Obtain and maintain a valid license as required by the State Gaming Agency for the position.
- Obtain and maintain a valid gaming license as determined by the Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board for the position.
- Alcohol Beverage Card: required.
