At Mystic Marriott Hotel & Spa in Groton, CT, you will help create seamless meeting and event experiences through dependable, guest-focused room service. What you’ll do
You will set up, break down, and service meeting rooms in line with established guest service and sustainability standards. Your work includes preparing spaces according to banquet event order forms, moving event materials safely, and keeping rooms ready for guests throughout the day.
- Set up meeting rooms based on banquet event order forms and related documents to ensure the setup meets guest expectations.
- Transport awkward and heavy items such as staging, tables, chairs, dance floors, and similar materials from storage to meeting rooms using proper equipment.
- Break down meeting rooms and return banquet items to the storage closet in a neat and organized manner.
- Maintain an established cleaning schedule for meeting rooms and ballrooms so spaces stay presentable.
- Respond to guest requests for changes to room setup and assist with information requests related to other hotel areas.
- Handle guest complaints personally, or seek assistance from a supervisor when needed.
- Practice safe work habits, wear appropriate protective safety equipment, and follow MSDS and OSHA standards.
- Complete other duties as requested by management.
What we’re looking for
- High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Previous banquet setup or customer service experience preferred.
Schedule and physical requirements
Your work schedule varies and will include alternate shifts, holidays, and weekends. The role involves being on your feet for extended periods and performing tasks such as walking, pushing, lifting up to 50 pounds, bending and reaching, stooping, pushing, kneeling, or crouching.
