Bar Back

Join the team at Argosy Casino Hotel & Spa Riverside as a Bar Back, supporting bar operations from behind the scenes to keep service smooth for guests and the beverage team. This onsite role in Riverside, MO focuses on fast, friendly, professional guest service while monitoring bar needs, maintaining cleanliness, and helping ensure inventory and par levels stay current.

As a bar back, you will assist beverage servers and bartenders, help promote casino events and programs, and support a welcoming atmosphere through good communication and guest-first service standards. You will also help maintain a clean, safe work station while operating and caring for bar equipment and utensils according to established guidelines.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver fast, friendly, professional service to casino guests, beverage servers, and bartenders
• Monitor guest alcohol consumption and intervene as needed in line with established guidelines
• Act as a goodwill ambassador during work and at customer and public relations functions
• Promote casino events and programs
• Provide personalized service and use guest names
• Resolve service issues according to guidelines
• Collaborate effectively with others, including beverage servers, bartenders, other barbacks, and beverage/casino supervisors
• Maintain par levels for operating supplies and equipment at each bar, replacing items using warehouse inventory procedures
• Stock and stage liquors, fruits, glassware, linen, silverware, paper supplies, and sundries in designated locations following storage guidelines and safety procedures
• Replace empty draught beer kegs as required
• Prepare fruit and ice stations by slicing and pitting fruit and filling ice bins with crushed or cubed ice from designated ice machines
• Operate and maintain bar equipment and utensils in accordance with established guidelines and safety procedures
• Remove and properly dispose of bar debris following department procedures
• Wipe counters and keep sinks and floors clean to maintain a clean and safe work station
• Maintain cleanliness in designated areas according to established health and safety standards

Requirements

• Must be 21 years of age
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Read, write legibly, and understand and speak English
• Excellent customer service and communication skills
• Available to work the required schedule, which may include nights, weekends, holidays, and overtime
• Meet professional appearance standards as prescribed by company policy
• Able to respond to visual and oral cues
• Able to work in constricting areas
• Tolerate second-hand smoke, noise, and bright lights
• Able to work at a fast pace in often crowded and noisy environments
• Physically mobile with reasonable accommodations, including ability to push, pull, carry, and lift up to 25 lbs., and to push/pull, reach, bend, twist, stoop, stack, crouch, kneel, and balance while performing duties in varying work areas such as confined spaces

Compensation

USD 9 - 9 per hourly. Starting salary: $9.54 per hour + tips.

Initial placement within the salary range is based on an individual’s relevant knowledge, skills, and experience.
