Hotel Indigo Omaha Downtown invites an experienced Chief Engineer to lead the property’s maintenance, engineering, life safety, preventative maintenance, and overall physical operations. This onsite role in Omaha, NE focuses on protecting the asset, upholding brand standards, and supporting guest satisfaction through reliable systems and well-maintained facilities. The position offers a competitive $85,000 - $95,000 per year salary, plus a comprehensive benefits package, leadership development, and clear opportunities for career growth.

Responsibilities
- Oversee all maintenance operations including guestrooms, public areas, mechanical spaces, and exterior grounds.
- Develop and execute preventative maintenance programs.
- Ensure HVAC, plumbing, electrical, kitchen equipment, pools, fire systems, and building systems operate efficiently.
- Respond promptly to guest maintenance requests and work orders.
- Coordinate repairs and capital projects with contractors and vendors.
- Ensure compliance with OSHA, fire safety, EPA, health department, and brand standards.
- Maintain inspection logs, permits, certifications, and maintenance documentation.
- Assist with annual budgets, capital planning, and expense management.
- Recruit, train, coach, and develop maintenance team members.
- Lead emergency response efforts related to equipment failures, weather events, and facility issues.
Requirements
- 3–5 years of hotel maintenance or engineering experience preferred.
- Previous Chief Engineer or supervisory maintenance experience preferred.
- Technical training, trade certifications, or vocational education preferred.
- Strong knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and building systems.
- Ability to manage vendors, contractors, and maintenance projects.
- Strong organizational and leadership skills.
- Ability to participate in on-call emergency response.
