Executive Housekeeper
Job Description
At Hotel Westport in Kansas City, MO, the Executive Housekeeper is a central leader on the housekeeping team, focused on delivering consistently clean, sanitary rooms and well-maintained guest and back-of-house areas. This role coordinates daily operations, supports staff development, and helps ensure safety standards are followed through inspections and emergency procedure readiness.
What you will do
- Supervise and coordinate daily housekeeping operations, ensuring all spaces meet high standards of cleanliness and sanitation.
- Develop and implement cleaning schedules, procedures, and protocols aligned with industry best practices and safety regulations.
- Train, motivate, and evaluate housekeeping staff on proper cleaning techniques, safe equipment use, chemical handling, and Safety Data Sheet (SDS) compliance.
- Oversee the proper handling and storage of chemical agents used for cleaning, floor care, and industrial cleaning tasks.
- Conduct regular inspections of guest rooms, public spaces, laundry areas, and back-of-house facilities to maintain quality standards.
- Manage inventory of cleaning supplies and equipment such as vacuum cleaners, floor buffers, mops, and janitorial tools, including maintenance and safe operation.
- Enforce hotel emergency procedures related to sanitation hazards or safety incidents, ensuring staff understand hotel-specific protocols for guest safety.
What you bring
- Proven experience in hotel housekeeping management or custodial experience within hospitality environments.
- Strong knowledge of floor cleaning techniques, floor care products, sanitation standards, and industrial cleaning practices.
- Familiarity with chemical agent handling, Safety Data Sheets (SDS), and proper use of cleaning equipment.
- Ability to perform manual handling tasks, including heavy lifting when needed for equipment or supplies.
- Excellent customer service skills and a positive attitude toward guests and team members.
- Knowledge of hotel emergency procedures and safety protocols to help maintain a secure environment for staff and guests.
- Prior janitorial or custodial experience in hospitality settings is highly desirable.
Compensation and schedule
$22.00 - $24.00 per hour. This is an in-person role with a flexible schedule.
