Job Description
Fort Pontchartrain A Wyndham Hotel is hiring an on-site Hotel Houseperson in Lake Harmony, PA. This role supports a clean, organized hotel environment by managing both linen care and day-to-day cleaning tasks across guest rooms, public areas, and back-of-house spaces. The position offers USD 14 per hour and is well-suited for someone who takes pride in cleanliness and enjoys working around guests with a friendly, helpful approach.
What you’ll do
You’ll help maintain a pleasant and positive guest experience by keeping hotel spaces fresh, orderly, and stocked. Day-to-day work includes cleaning rooms and multiple high-traffic areas, while also supporting linen handling and cleaning cart readiness.
- Clean rooms and surrounding areas as needed, including hallways, lobbies, lounges, restrooms, corridors, elevators, stairways, locker rooms, and other work areas.
- Follow the regulations in the material safety data sheets when using chemicals.
- Move and arrange furniture, dust, and polish furniture, metalwork, and equipment.
- Sweep, scrub, wax, and polish floors using brooms, mops, and powered machinery; vacuum and clean rugs, carpets, upholstered furniture, and draperies.
- Collect soiled linens for laundering and store clean linens in the linen closet.
- Clean bathrooms and replenish supplies as needed.
- Restock rooms with required supplies (including towels) and prepare the cleaning cart with the appropriate shift supplies.
- Wash walls, ceilings, woodwork, windows, door panels, and sills.
- Empty wastebaskets and clean ashtrays; transport trash to disposal areas.
- Greet guests in a friendly and warm manner.
- Assist with luggage requests in a friendly, efficient, and courteous way.
- Handle items for Lost and Found according to hotel standards.
- Complete other duties as assigned.

- Education: High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Experience: Previous housekeeping or janitorial experience is a plus, but not required.
