Housekeeping Room Attendant

The Post Oak Hotel in Houston, TX onsite is seeking a Room Attendant to clean and maintain guest rooms, replace towels and bed linens, and respond to guest requests. The role involves entering guest rooms, verifying vacancy, and performing general cleaning and upkeep. The position offers an hourly wage of USD 16 - 16 and requires onsite work.

Location and Compensation

Location: Houston, TX (onsite). Salary: USD 16 - 16 per hourly.

Responsibilities

• Respond promptly to requests from guests and other departments
• Fill cart with supplies and transport cart to assigned area
• Enter guest rooms following procedures for gaining access and ensuring vacancy before entering
• Make beds and fold terry
• Replace dirty linens and terry with clean items
• Replace guest amenities and supplies in rooms
• Clean bathrooms
• Remove trash, dirty linen, and room service items
• Check that all appliances are present in the room and in working order
• Vacuum carpets and perform floor care duties in guest rooms and hallways
• Report any maintenance problems, safety hazards, accidents, or injuries

Requirements

• 1 year of previous customer service or cleaning experience
• Knowledge of or experience with Forbes 4/5 Star service standards is preferred
• Ability to work flexible schedules, including nights, weekends and holidays
• Move, lift, carry, and place objects weighing up to 55 pounds without assistance; heavier items require assistance
• Ability to push and pull a loaded housekeeping cart and other work-related equipment over sloping and uneven surfaces
• Reach overhead and below the knees, including bending, twisting, pulling, and stooping
