Job Description

Hotel Equities is seeking a Housekeeping Supervisor to lead the onsite housekeeping team in Hawthorne, California. This role focuses on supervising room attendants, ensuring prompt cleaning, and coordinating with the front desk and other departments to uphold service standards and guest satisfaction.

Compensation: USD 21 per hour

Education: High School diploma or equivalent

Responsibilities

  • Supervise room attendants to ensure prompt and efficient cleaning of guest rooms
  • Verify daily room cleaner worksheets and inform the front desk of status updates
  • Oversee last-minute room-change requests and ensure timely completion
  • Inspect check-out and stay-over rooms after cleaning to confirm adherence to company standards
  • Maintain records of room check-outs and stay-overs, submitting updates to housekeeping each day
  • Monitor room quality through inspections and documentation of cleaned rooms
  • Prepare maintenance work orders for furniture or fixture replacements or repairs, and ensure follow-through
  • Regularly assess room status and communicate changes to room attendants
  • Check VIP rooms and early-morning makeup rooms
  • Coordinate cleaning priorities based on guest requests, including VIP, checkout, and anticipated check-out rooms
  • Inspect floor linen closets daily for cleanliness, supply levels, and linens
  • Ensure carts are stored properly and vacuum cleaners are emptied at day end
  • Assist with quarterly linen inventory
  • Maintain safety by keeping linen chutes locked when not in use
  • Collaborate with front desk, engineering, banquet services, and room service to coordinate housekeeping activities
  • Strive to amaze guests with attentive service and uphold company standards
  • Assist in training new housekeeping staff and provide direction to team members
  • Ensure adherence to housekeeping quality standards and standard operating procedures
  • Coordinate with other hotel departments to improve communication and guest satisfaction
  • Assist in daily inventory management to optimize room availability and revenue while meeting guest expectations

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Experience with Marriott, Hilton, IHG, Wyndham or Hyatt processes and standards
  • Most tasks are indoors with a moderate, climate-controlled environment
  • Walking and standing for nearly the entire shift; ability to move around and direct others
  • Must be able to exert well-paced movement to reach other hotel departments
  • Must lift up to 15 lbs on a regular basis
  • Must push and pull carts and equipment weighing up to 250 lbs occasionally
  • Ability to operate in limited space; bending, stooping, squatting and stretching to complete tasks
  • Requires grasping, writing, standing, sitting, walking, repetitive motions, bending, climbing, listening and hearing, and visual acuity
  • Continuous talking and hearing for communication with guests, supervisors and staff
  • Vision with near vision and depth perception
  • Manual dexterity to use and operate all necessary equipment

This Job Requires

  • Most work tasks are indoors with a moderate climate controlled by hotel systems
  • Walking and standing for close to 100% of the shift; duration varies by day and task
