Houseperson

Join Wagner Hospitality Management / IRIS HOTEL BOSTON at our Iris Hotel Boston location in Brookline, MA (onsite) and support a team that keeps every guest experience clean, comfortable, and well-stocked. This full-time Houseperson role offers a competitive hourly wage ($18 to $19 per hour), with health, dental, vision, and life insurance for eligible employees, paid time off, and employee discounts on hotel services and amenities.

You will work closely with the housekeeping team to maintain guest-ready rooms, uphold cleanliness throughout the property, and respond to guest requests. If you enjoy detail-oriented work and helping guests feel taken care of, this role provides a clear, practical way to make an impact every day.

Responsibilities

• Regularly clean and maintain lobbies, hallways, elevators, restrooms, and other public areas.
• Support housekeeping by providing necessary supplies, removing dirty linens, and ensuring guest rooms are fully stocked.
• Keep housekeeping carts stocked with linens, towels, toiletries, and cleaning products.
• Refill supplies as needed in housekeeping storage areas.
• Assist with collecting, sorting, and delivering dirty linens and towels to the laundry room, and distributing clean items to the appropriate areas.
• Handle guest requests in a timely and efficient manner, such as delivering extra towels, toiletries, or pillows.
• Ensure housekeeping equipment is in good working condition and properly stored.
• Follow safety protocols and maintain high standards of cleanliness in all areas.
• Report maintenance issues or safety hazards to the appropriate department.
• Occasionally help with special cleaning projects, deep cleaning, or support other departments as needed.

Requirements

• 1 year of hotel experience (required).
• High school diploma or equivalent (preferred).
• Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions.
• Excellent communication skills with a friendly, customer-focused attitude.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs. and stand for extended periods.
• Flexible availability including weekends and holidays.
• Ability to bend, kneel, and reach for extended periods.
• Must be able to perform manual tasks, including carrying and lifting heavy objects.
• Ability to push and pull housekeeping carts, laundry carts, and other equipment.
