Job Description

At Black Oak Casino Hotel on site in Tuolumne, the pool area stands as a welcoming retreat for guests and a key element of the resort experience. The Lead Pool Attendant keeps the space clean, stocked, and inviting while assisting the Housekeeping Manager with pool chemical balancing to maintain safe water quality. This role also provides leadership to fellow pool attendants and coordinates routine pool area operations.

Responsibilities

  • Keeps the pool area in good condition by skimming debris, washing decks, and flushing gutters.
  • Arranges and cleans pool furniture to maintain a tidy, accessible space.
  • Removes trash and used towels from the pool area.
  • Cleans, prepares, stocks, and tracks inventory of pool area supplies.
  • Offers guidance, leadership and training to all pool attendants as directed by the Housekeeping Manager.
  • Alerts Housekeeping leadership to department concerns and coaching opportunities for pool attendants as appropriate.
  • Collaborates with Housekeeping Leadership to monitor pool water chemistry and report discrepancies promptly.
  • Maintains a positive, professional demeanor toward Guests and Team Members.
  • Provides Guests with information about Hotel and Resort amenities and services when needed.
  • Reports any incidents of Guest dissatisfaction or other significant matters promptly to Manager/Supervisor for corrective action.
  • Enforces pool usage rules to ensure the safety of Guests and Team Members.
  • Alerts the Guest Service Supervisor to problems when necessary.
  • Immediately reports emergencies, accidents, injuries, missing articles, damage, engineering items and safety hazards to management.
  • Ensures communications containing Tuolumne Band of Me-Wuk Indians; TEDA, Inc.; Black Oak Casino Resort and Guest information align with privacy policies and procedures.
  • Performs other duties as assigned and participates in special projects as needed.

Requirements

  • Must be at least 18 years old with a valid work permit.
  • Must be able to swim.
  • Ability to understand and provide friendly guest service.
  • Capable of working in a fast-paced environment while remaining professional, flexible, and efficient.
  • Proficient English communication is required.
  • Must pass a background check.
  • Current certification to operate a pool is required, or the ability to obtain certification within the first 90 days.
  • Must provide evidence of employment eligibility in the United States.
