Job Description

The Night Audit role at Casa Laguna Hotel & Spa in Laguna Beach, California (onsite) encompasses overnight front desk responsibilities, including guest registration, billing and checkout, addressing guest requests, and conducting nightly audits to uphold guest satisfaction and policy compliance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Greet guests, check them in, and assign rooms at the hotel or motel
  • Coordinate with housekeeping or maintenance when guests report issues
  • Issue room keys and provide escort instructions to bellhops
  • Verify guest credit and determine payment method for lodging
  • Create and confirm reservations
  • Maintain records of room availability and guest accounts, manually or via computers
  • Post charges for rooms, meals, beverages, or calls to ledgers
  • Review accounts and charges with guests during checkout
  • Document guest comments or complaints and refer to management as needed
  • Prepare bills, collect payments, and make change for guests
  • Transmit and receive messages using telephones or switchboards
  • Answer questions about hotel services, guest registration, and directions; offer local recommendations
  • Inform housekeeping when rooms are vacated and ready for cleaning
  • Perform bookkeeping tasks including balancing accounts and nightly audits
  • Keep the lobby and common areas clean and stocked, including restocking supplies and watering plants
  • Execute any additional duties as assigned by the on-duty manager
