Night Auditor
Job Description
The Night Auditor role at Merete Hotel Management in Medford, OR combines front desk responsibilities with financial recordkeeping to ensure accurate guest transactions and revenue reporting.
Compensation
Hourly wage: USD 16 per hour
Responsibilities
- Review and analyze all account adjustments and ensure accurate posting to guest folios or master accounts.
- Demonstrate a solid understanding of the front office accounting equipment used in the hotel.
- Verify that every charge posts to the appropriate guest folio or master account and that room tax is applied accordingly.
- Confirm that all front office charges, miscellaneous charges, and adjustments are posted and reconciled.
- Balance guest charges, run required reports, and attach supporting documentation to the corresponding reports.
- Answer incoming telephone calls and provide professional assistance as needed.
- Check guests in and out in accordance with hotel procedures.
- Attend mandatory meetings as scheduled.
- Immediately report any unsafe conditions to the supervisor or appropriate personnel.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor, including cross training.
- Maintain regular and reliable attendance and punctuality as essential functions of the position.

Requirements
- Prior cash handling experience and at least two years of customer service experience preferred.
- Hotel or hospitality experience is advantageous.
- May require a valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.
- Proficiency with computer systems and keyboard operation.
- Criminal background check is required.

Essential Functions

- Balance guest charges, run required reports, and attach supporting documents to the reports.
- Answer telephone inquiries in a courteous and professional manner.
- Check guests in and out according to established procedures.
- Attend mandatory meetings as required.
- Report any unsafe conditions immediately to supervisory personnel.

Physical Description
- Constantly standing at the front desk on tile or carpeted surfaces.
- Regular repetitive motions including bending, twisting, and crouching as part of daily tasks.
- Occasionally lifting or carrying up to 20 pounds; frequently handling lightweight objects around the desk area.
- Occasionally pushing or pulling items weighing up to 20 pounds as needed.
Working Conditions
- Exposure to fumes, chemicals, vibrations, humidity, cold, heat, dust, and noise typical of a hotel environment.
- Adherence to the hotel safety standards and procedures is required.
- Exposure to computer printer and telephone noise during duties.
