Public Space Attendant

At the Hilton University of Florida Conference Center, the Public Space Attendant plays a key role in keeping shared areas and guest floors clean, safe, and welcoming. Working onsite in Gainesville, FL, this position supports the housekeeping team while helping maintain hotel cleanliness standards and ensuring concerns are flagged quickly.

As part of Pyramid Hotel Group, you will focus on the day to day appearance and readiness of public spaces, along with timely reporting of maintenance, safety, and hazard issues. The role also includes following safety protocols, including Bloodborne Pathogens procedures, while providing courteous support to guests and team members.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain cleanliness of assigned public areas, including high dusting, vacuuming, and general upkeep
• Clean and polish elevator doors, tracks, hallway lighting, and windows
• Remove marks from walls and help maintain the lobby’s appearance
• Service and clean common spaces
• Monitor the cleanliness and condition of equipment and report maintenance or safety concerns promptly
• Identify and report hazards such as spills, broken items, or suspicious activity
• Follow all safety protocols, including Bloodborne Pathogens procedures
• Provide courteous, helpful service to guests and support fellow team members
• Perform other duties as assigned by supervisors
• Offer suggestions for process improvements when appropriate

Qualifications

• Previous housekeeping or cleaning experience preferred
• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods and perform physical tasks, including lifting and pushing
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness standards
• Ability to communicate effectively and follow basic instructions
• Professional, neat appearance and positive attitude
• Ability to read room numbers, dates, and standard instructions
