Job Description

RiverPlace Hotel in Portland, OR is seeking a Supervisor Housekeeping to oversee day-to-day cleanliness across guest and public spaces. In this onsite role, you will supervise, train, and inspect housekeeping staff to confirm procedures are completed according to established standards, while stepping in as needed to support strong guest service.

This position is paid USD 24 per hour.

Key Responsibilities

Supervise housekeeping staff while they carry out all daily procedures, ensuring work is completed to standard.
Maintain current knowledge of, and comply with, departmental policies, service procedures, and standards.
Prepare and distribute assignment sheets to assigned staff and review priorities.
Inspect guest rooms and key supporting areas, including guest corridors, elevator foyer area, vending area, service area (including the linen closet and staff restroom), and storage areas.
Inspect public areas and bathrooms, as well as restaurants, spa, pool area, offices, and service areas after cleaning by the relevant personnel, using designated checklists.
Assist staff with job functions as needed to maintain optimum cleanliness and service standards for guests.

Requirements

Knowledge of proper cleaning techniques, chemical handling requirements, and the use of equipment.
Fluency in English, including verbal and non-verbal communication.
Ability to provide legible communication.
Ability to compute mathematical calculations.
Ability to perform job functions with attention to detail, speed, and accuracy.
Ability to maintain confidentiality of guest information and pertinent hotel data.
Ability to assess departmental training needs and provide that training.
Ability to direct staff performance and follow up with corrections when needed.
Ability to input and access information in the property management system using computers.

Job Description

Temporary Housekeeping Supervisor at RiverPlace Hotel in Portland, OR onsite, overseeing cleanliness and upkeep of guest rooms, meeting rooms, hallways and public areas while coordinating with Front Desk and other hotel operations; salary is USD 19 - 22 per hour.

Responsibilities

Prepare an inspection report at the start of each shift detailing the status of all guest rooms, including guest requests, out of order rooms, and show rooms for the day.
Inspect all guest check-out rooms for cleanliness, appropriate guest amenities, and the working condition of room equipment.
Report any substandard conditions or damage of guest rooms to the Housekeeping department.

Notify Front Desk of vacant and clean rooms, completion of guest requests, and any room status discrepancies.
Coordinate with Front Desk on room moves, late check-outs, and additional guest requests requiring follow-up action.

Assist guests with special requests, provide information, and manage the status of Lost & Found items.
Check the hotel's PMS computer for information concerning room status and enter updated room status as needed.
Collect, log, and secure all Lost & Found items in a locked cabinet; secure room cleaners' assignment sheets, floor keys, and the office, then lock the office door.
Confirm the next day’s work schedule with room cleaners.
Complete a written report of all room statuses for the Front Desk.
File all daily reports in the file cabinet.

High School Diploma preferred.
1 year of experience in customer service or a similar role.
