Supervisor Housekeeping

RiverPlace Hotel in Portland, OR is seeking a Supervisor Housekeeping to oversee day-to-day cleanliness across guest and public spaces. In this onsite role, you will supervise, train, and inspect housekeeping staff to confirm procedures are completed according to established standards, while stepping in as needed to support strong guest service.

This position is paid USD 24 per hour.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise housekeeping staff while they carry out all daily procedures, ensuring work is completed to standard.
• Maintain current knowledge of, and comply with, departmental policies, service procedures, and standards.
• Prepare and distribute assignment sheets to assigned staff and review priorities.
• Inspect guest rooms and key supporting areas, including guest corridors, elevator foyer area, vending area, service area (including the linen closet and staff restroom), and storage areas.
• Inspect public areas and bathrooms, as well as restaurants, spa, pool area, offices, and service areas after cleaning by the relevant personnel, using designated checklists.
• Assist staff with job functions as needed to maintain optimum cleanliness and service standards for guests.

Requirements

• Knowledge of proper cleaning techniques, chemical handling requirements, and the use of equipment.
• Fluency in English, including verbal and non-verbal communication.
• Ability to provide legible communication.
• Ability to compute mathematical calculations.
• Ability to perform job functions with attention to detail, speed, and accuracy.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality of guest information and pertinent hotel data.
• Ability to assess departmental training needs and provide that training.
• Ability to direct staff performance and follow up with corrections when needed.
• Ability to input and access information in the property management system using computers.
