Housekeeping Supervisor

At The Elser Hotel & Residences in Downtown Miami, the Housekeeping Supervisor helps keep day-to-day room care running smoothly across assigned sections. This role administers and coordinates housekeeping functions, and steps in to cover Housekeeping Manager duties when needed. You will inspect work quality, coordinate room readiness, and support repairs, training, and guest satisfaction.

Working onsite in Miami, FL, you will oversee standards and productivity, ensure key operational tasks are completed on time, and maintain close communication with Front Office and Engineering throughout your shift.

Responsibilities

• Inspect Room Attendant performance within assigned sections on a daily basis to ensure standards and productivity levels are maintained.
• In the absence of the Housekeeping Manager or Assistant Housekeeping Manager, inspect all V.I.P. rooms and report availability to the Front Office according to hotel standards.
• Oversee end-of-day floor closing, including ensuring Room Attendants’ carts are clean and restocked.
• Ensure daily assignment records are completed, signed off, and submitted to the Housekeeping Office on time.
• Maintain key control and handle Lost and Found items according to established standards.
• Monitor cleanliness and orderliness of Room Attendants’ carts, linen closets, control closets, stairways, and landings.
• Oversee daily duty assignment to ensure Room Attendants and House Attendants carry an active work assignment.
• Carry an active pager or radio to stay in contact with Front Office and/or Engineering throughout the shift.
• Report progress of all out-of-order rooms under the Housekeeping Department’s supervision to the Guest Services Manager in line with standards.
• Initiate repair and maintenance work orders and forward them to Engineering, then follow through until completion.
• Assist with training for Housekeeping staff.
• May be required to clean rooms based on business needs.
• Ensure completion of cleaning projects on a biannual basis.
• Support overall guest satisfaction.

Requirements

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• College course work in a related field is helpful.
• At least 2 years of experience; 2 to 3 years of progressive hotel or related experience preferred.
• Previous supervisory responsibility preferred.
• Ability to stand during the entire shift.
• Effective verbal and written communication with employees and guests in an attentive, friendly, courteous, service-oriented manner.
