Moonrise Hotel in St. Louis, MO offers an onsite, part-time Security role designed to prioritize guest safety, proactive patrols, and responsive customer service. This position focuses on maintaining a welcoming, secure environment in the Rooftop Bar/Garden and Eclipse Restaurant, with weekend and holiday shifts and ID verification as part of the guest experience. Responsibilities
- Deter crime through a visible, regular patrol presence.
- Promptly communicate any breaches or safety concerns.
- Deliver top-quality security for the facility while prioritizing guest and employee safety.
- Provide courteous, proactive customer service as part of the security role.
- Approach interactions with a helping mindset, not solely protection.
- Verify guest IDs for entry to the Rooftop Bar/Garden area and, occasionally, the Eclipse Restaurant.
- Maintain awareness of liquor laws and related regulations.
- Patrol premises and navigate ladders, ramps, and stairs; be prepared for occasional running.
- Use both hands to reach and grasp objects as needed.
- Use a radio/phone to communicate with headquarters and file reports.
- Maintain high levels of mental alertness and attention to detail in all conditions.
- Present a neat, professional appearance at all times.
- Follow established security protocols while exercising initiative and good judgment.
- Adapt to varied weather conditions, including extreme heat, cold, snow, or ice.
- Fulfill additional assignments directed by the General Manager, Security Manager or Food & Beverage Management.
- Be an enthusiastic, helpful, and positive team member who is professional and mature.
- Communicate openly with all departments and share pertinent information as needed.
- Welcome feedback and adapt to new ideas while maintaining punctuality and reliability.
- Maintain a flexible schedule that includes weekends and holidays when required.
- Assist other departments in emergencies and participate in regular meetings, log books, and bulletins.
- Adhere to all company rules, procedures, and policies including the associate handbook.
Requirements
- Ability to speak, read, write, and understand the primary workplace language(s).
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to lift up to 25 lbs occasionally.
- Physical capability to stand for extended periods and perform patrol duties, including walking, bending, and climbing as needed.
- Continuous talking and listening during guest, supervisor, and colleague interactions; vision with near and depth perception.
- Must stand for up to 8 hours per day.
- Must be able to pass a background check.
- High School diploma or equivalent required; security experience preferred.
- Minimum age of 21 years old.
- Ability to stay flexible and composed in stressful situations.
- Proof of Hepatitis A vaccination is required.
