Job Description

Based at Perch within The Lodge at Gulf State Park, a Hilton Hotel, this onsite role oversees shift operations and supports restaurant administration to ensure guest satisfaction, consistent service quality, policy compliance, and achievement of financial targets. The position is located in Gulf Shores, Alabama.

Responsibilities

  • Fulfill restaurant human resources objectives by recruiting and selecting staff, orienting and training team members, assigning duties, scheduling, coaching, counseling, and disciplining as needed; clearly communicating expectations, roles, and responsibilities; monitoring performance through appraisals; planning compensation actions; and enforcing policies and procedures.
  • Contribute to operational objectives by providing input for strategic plans, preparing action plans, and implementing standards for production, productivity, quality, and customer service; resolving issues; conducting audits; identifying trends; proposing system improvements; and driving applicable changes.
  • Support financial objectives by forecasting requirements, assisting with the annual budget, scheduling expenditures, analyzing variances, and initiating corrective actions as necessary.
  • Ensure compliance with alcohol service regulations to mitigate legal risk.
  • Enhance bar profitability through portion control and accurate charge monitoring.
  • Promote the restaurant by planning advertisements, inviting food editors for reviews, pitching feature ideas to media across local, regional, and national outlets, and encouraging local businesses to host events at the restaurant.
  • Maintain a safe, secure, and healthy environment by establishing and enforcing sanitation standards, supervising equipment maintenance to protect assets, securing revenues, complying with legal regulations, and delivering quality service.
  • Keep professional knowledge current by pursuing educational opportunities, reading industry publications, maintaining networks, and engaging with professional organizations.
  • Investigate and resolve guest needs, inquiries, comments, and problems to ensure a quality experience and foster future sales prospects.
  • Update the cash management system and generate reports to assist restaurant administration.
  • Establish standards for personnel performance and guest service.
  • Perform Manager on Duty responsibilities and shifts as assigned.

Requirements

  • Demonstrated leadership abilities and strong communication skills
  • Experience with budget management and financial acumen
  • Excellent organizational skills for supervising staff and coordinating events
  • Knowledge of current food and beverage trends
  • Understanding of food cost control and inventory management
  • Familiarity with health and safety regulations
