Job Description

Start your mornings with a role that keeps things moving and guests feeling taken care of. As a Breakfast Attendant at Hotel Troy Trademark Collection by Wyndham in Parsippany-Troy Hills, NJ (onsite), you will set up, maintain, and break down the hotel breakfast buffet while providing a welcoming, attentive experience in a fast-paced morning environment.

This non-exempt position supports smooth breakfast operations by ensuring food and beverage items are properly arranged, labeled, and served at safe temperatures. You will also help guests during service with friendly communication, coffee and beverage refills, and quick table resets so the dining area stays clean and inviting.

What you’ll do

  • Set up the breakfast buffet according to established property standards, including chafing dishes, serving utensils, signage, and food displays
  • Prepare the dining and buffet areas by completing opening side work duties
  • Maintain clean, organized, and visually appealing buffet presentation throughout service
  • Monitor buffet stations continuously and replenish food, beverages, and supplies before depletion
  • Maintain proper food temperatures during service in compliance with safety standards
  • Communicate low inventory levels or quality concerns to kitchen staff promptly
  • Remove and properly store or discard food items at the end of service
  • Greet guests warmly and provide a welcoming breakfast experience
  • Assist guests with questions about menu items, ingredients, and allergens
  • Provide tableside service including coffee, juice, water, and tea refills
  • Clear and reset tables promptly to maintain a clean dining environment
  • Maintain cleanliness of buffet stations, dining area, and surrounding workspaces throughout service
  • Clean and sanitize buffet equipment, chafing dishes, serving utensils, and stations after service
  • Complete closing side work duties, including breakdown of the buffet setup
  • Follow all food safety and sanitation standards at all times
  • Assist kitchen and F&B team members as needed to keep breakfast operations running smoothly
  • Support other food and beverage outlets or dining areas as needed
  • Maintain a professional appearance and positive, service-oriented attitude, and communicate effectively with supervisors regarding guest needs or operational issues

What you’ll bring

  • Food safety certification preferred (or required per local regulations)
  • Constant standing throughout entire shift in buffet and dining areas
  • Frequent walking, reaching, bending, pushing/pulling, and use of motor skills
  • Occasional crouching, kneeling, and balancing
  • Frequent lifting/carrying up to 25 lbs; occasional lifting up to 50 lbs

Requirements: High school diploma or equivalent required. Minimum 1 year of food service, hospitality, or customer service experience is preferred, with hotel breakfast or buffet service experience preferred.

Details: Salary is $20 - $20 per hour. FLSA: Non-Exempt. Direct Supervisor: Restaurant Manager. Travel: No travel required; role is property-based.
