Guest Room Attendant
Job Description
This part-time Guest Room Attendant role is based onsite at Chaminade Resort & Spa in Santa Cruz, part of Pyramid Global Hospitality. The position focuses on cleaning and preparing guest rooms, bathrooms, and public areas to high standards while delivering a welcoming guest experience. Hourly compensation is USD 21 per hour.
Responsibilities
- Engage with guests in a professional and courteous manner to support a positive stay.
- Collaborate with team members to uphold cleanliness and presentation standards across the resort.
- Clean, sanitize, and prepare assigned guest rooms, bathrooms, and public areas per Chaminade Resort & Spa standards.
- Change and inspect linens and towels daily, adhering to resort standards and Green Program guidelines.
- Keep housekeeping carts organized, stocked, and secure at all times.
- Use and maintain cleaning equipment, supplies, chemicals, and guest amenities properly.
- Respect guests' privacy and personal property at all times.
- Identify and promptly report maintenance concerns, safety hazards, lost-and-found items, and any suspicious activity to the supervisor.
- Adhere to all safety policies and procedures, including safe handling of equipment and cleaning products.
- Arrive to work on time, maintain accurate time records, and follow established room assignment and daily workflow procedures.
- Remain alert, professional, courteous, and helpful to guests and coworkers at all times.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by the Floor Supervisor or Housekeeping Management Team.
Requirements
- Prior housekeeping, hotel, or hospitality experience preferred.
- Professional appearance with a positive, friendly, guest-focused demeanor.
- Strong time management and organizational abilities.
- English and Spanish bilingual preferred; effective communication with guests, coworkers, and supervisors.
- Ability to read room numbers, dates, safety information, and basic written instructions.
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods during the workday.
- Frequent bending, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, stretching, twisting, pushing, pulling, and climbing while cleaning.
- Ability to move and position oneself to clean floors, bathrooms, under furniture, and high surfaces.
- Push, pull, and maneuver housekeeping carts weighing up to 100 lbs through hallways, elevators, and tight spaces.
- Safe operation of housekeeping equipment and tools, including vacuums, mops, brooms, dusters, scrub pads, and cleaning chemicals.
- Ability to observe room conditions, identify cleanliness and maintenance issues, and detect odors or safety concerns.
- Ability to lift and carry items weighing up to 25 lbs regularly, occasionally more with assistance.
