Housekeeping Supervisor

Houston Grand Hotel - River Oaks is looking for a Housekeeping Supervisor to help keep the property safe, clean, and welcoming for guests, associates, and vendors. In this onsite role in Houston, TX, you will direct the housekeeping team, maintain high cleanliness standards, and support day-to-day operations while helping ensure compliance with health and sanitation expectations as well as accident and loss prevention practices.

What you’ll do

• Supervise housekeeping staff with clear communication, training, coaching, and performance feedback to support maximum efficiency.
• Participate in hiring by interviewing candidates, training new team members, and recommending performance evaluations; address issues and recommend discipline or termination when appropriate.
• Supervise and inspect cleaning standards across guest rooms, turndown service, public areas, and back-of-house spaces, ensuring compliance with accident/loss prevention programs and health/sanitation regulations.
• Assign work to staff by reviewing special requests and areas of concentration so the housekeeping workflow stays smooth.
• Control operational costs by issuing supplies and goods to staff at the start of each shift, ensuring the right items are available while managing inventory.
• Respond to guest requests, concerns, and problems with the goal of maintaining strong guest satisfaction.
• Maintain Lost and Found controls by logging items and answering inquiries.
• Implement emergency training and procedures to protect hotel guests, staff, and company assets.
• Follow attendance rules and be available to work on a regular basis.
• Complete other job-related duties as assigned.

What you bring

• Housekeeping experience preferred.
• Ability to grasp, lift, carry, or otherwise move materials weighing up to 100 lbs with or without reasonable accommodation.
• Ability to move throughout the building and bend, stoop, and reach to assist room attendants, house-persons, and inspectors as needed, with or without reasonable accommodation.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to adjust communication style for different audiences such as supervisors, coworkers, and the public.
