Houseman

Join Moxy Allentown Hotel in Allentown, PA (onsite) as a Houseman. This role keeps high-traffic areas spotless and supports a smooth guest experience, while offering a benefits package designed to help you stay covered and prepared.

What you can expect

You will clean and inspect lobby, restrooms, and public areas in safe, efficient compliance with hotel policies, brand standards, and regulations. You will also perform quality checks on select public-area items and promptly alert management about any issues that need attention.

Key responsibilities

• Walk all assigned spaces at the beginning and end of each shift.
• Remove newspapers, trash, and empty ash receptacles, and note areas requiring immediate cleaning.
• Clean assigned public areas, including dusting, polishing, vacuuming, glass cleaning, and trash removal.
• Clean public elevators.
• Clean public restrooms and stock supplies as needed.
• Perform quality checks on public space televisions, telephones, and lamps.
• Clean offices as assigned.
• Use cleaning equipment and supplies appropriately and properly.
• Promptly report emergencies, accidents, injuries, missing articles, damage, engineering items, and safety hazards to management.
• Promptly notify housekeeping management of emergencies, injuries, missing articles, damage, mechanical problems, and safety hazards.
• Turn in items left in public spaces to housekeeping management for Lost and Found processing.
• Perform duties of Houseperson, Room Attendant, or Laundry Attendant as assigned.

Requirements

• Previous experience in housekeeping or a related role is a plus.
• Strong attention to detail, thoroughness, and knowledge of proper cleaning techniques, chemicals, and equipment.
• Ability to work independently and efficiently to complete assigned rooms, organize housekeeping carts, and handle other assigned tasks.
• Strong communication skills for interacting with guests and team members.
• Basic understanding of safety and sanitation practices.
• Flexibility to work nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.
