In-Room Dining Order Taker

Join The Post Oak Hotel in Houston, TX (onsite) as an In-Room Dining Order Taker and help deliver a polished, guest-first experience at the table. Responsibilities

• Follow all standards of performance excellence and deliver a great guest experience from order to service coordination.
• Take in-room dining orders by phone and in-person, using detailed menu knowledge and offering upselling when appropriate.
• Communicate additional meal requirements, allergies, dietary needs, and special requests to the kitchen.
• Post each order correctly in the POS system to ensure accurate communication to the service and kitchen teams.
• Support a clean, organized environment by clearing, collecting, and returning food and beverage items to the proper area.
• Complete closing duties, including restocking and cleaning as needed.
• Adhere to company safety and security policies and procedures; report maintenance issues, safety hazards, accidents, or injuries; complete safety training and certifications.
• Maintain confidentiality of proprietary information and protect company assets.
• Use clear, professional communication and follow appropriate telephone etiquette.
• Stay knowledgeable about The Post Oak and its services.

Requirements

• High School diploma or equivalent and/or experience in a hotel or related field.
• 1–3 years of restaurant experience.
• Ability to listen effectively with strong attention to detail required.
• Previous hotel experience preferred, with luxury or Forbes experience a plus.
• Ability to work flexible schedules, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Ability to move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing 25 pounds or less without assistance.
• Ability to assist with moving, lifting, carrying, and placing objects weighing more than 50 pounds.
• Ability to stand, sit, or walk for an extended period of time or for an entire work shift.
