Job Description

SW Hotel Management is hiring a Lobby Attendant for an onsite role in Los Angeles, CA. This position supports a clean, safe guest experience through prompt sanitation, public-area care, and attentive service. The role is Non-Exempt, with PM/Varies shifts, and an hourly pay rate of USD 26.

What You’ll Do

The Lobby Attendant is responsible for the cleaning, sanitation, and safety of the hotel’s front lobby and other public areas. Work includes maintaining a presentable lobby, responding quickly to hazards, and supporting guests with directions and answers.

  • Ensure the front lobby is clean and presentable for guests.
  • Inspect public areas for cleanliness and potentially hazardous conditions.
  • Immediately respond and correct potentially dangerous conditions (example: a wet floor from guests tracking in rain or snow).
  • Clean pool area and restrooms, including public restrooms and stocking necessary items.
  • Keep glass on public doors and windows clean.
  • Clean, dust, mop, vacuum, and polish the lobby, including furniture, public phones, wall fixtures, market area, glass, and windows.
  • Arrange cushions properly on lobby sofa(s).
  • Assist guests with questions and direct them to the areas they want to go.
  • Care for cleaning equipment used in the lobby and prepare the housekeeping lobby cart for next-day use.
  • Report suspicious behavior to management immediately.
  • Report lost and found items to management.
  • Report needed repairs or unsafe conditions to management.
  • Attend meetings and training as required and perform other duties as requested.
  • Respond to requests from guests, supervisors, or management in a timely and efficient manner.

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED helpful; experience in a hotel or related field preferred.
  • Bi-lingual in English and Spanish required.
  • Previous hotel or industrial experience desired.
  • Ability to communicate accurately and effectively in verbal and written form with guests and associates to provide directions, instructions, information, and service as required.
  • Ability to work well in stressful, high-pressure situations, particularly with guests or staff members.

Safety and Compliance

Knowledge of fire and other safety procedures is required, including those for HazCOMM, Bloodborne Pathogen, Fire Safety procedures, and heavy lifting techniques. The role also requires following company policies and procedures.

Physical Requirements

  • Long hours sometimes required, including nights and weekends.
  • Ability to lift up to approximately 30 pounds and/or 30 pounds of force frequently or constantly to carry, push, pull, or move objects.
  • Ability to push heavy carts of approximately 100 pounds.
  • Bend, stoop, stretch, and reach to dust, vacuum, mop, and polish lobby décor.
  • Stand and walk for varying lengths of time, often for long periods, and remain on your feet throughout the entire shift.
