Job Description
Maintenance Engineer II with The Brown Palace Hotel & Spa in Denver, Colorado ensures the property remains in optimal condition at all times, delivering dependable service with minimal disruption to guests and staff.
Overview
The Engineer, Level 2 is responsible for maintaining the property in the best possible condition while minimizing inconvenience to guests and employees.
Responsibilities
- Repair and service the hotel air conditioning system, including changing filters, cleaning coils, and replacing motors.
- Perform preventive maintenance on equipment such as boilers, chillers, HVAC systems, and electrical components.
- Take required readings on equipment and test cooling towers, recording results.
- Replace and program televisions as needed.
- Replace light switches, receptacles, light bulbs, and fixtures.
- Repair furniture and service pumps as required.
- Execute plumbing repairs including clogged drains, copper piping, washer replacements, handle replacements, and drain fittings.
- Read and interpret blueprints and wiring diagrams.
- Trace and repair all types of water lines.
- Troubleshoot and repair kitchen equipment.
- Maintain repair and preventive maintenance records.
- Ensure work complies with local, state and Federal codes.
- Test, clean and repair swimming pools and spas.
- Paint designated areas and repair sheetrock.
- Repair wall coverings and service hotel electronic lock systems.
- Assist in supervising other engineering staff members and support scheduling of preventive maintenance tasks.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent and/or one year of experience in a hotel or related field required.
- At least two years of progressive experience in a hotel or related field preferred.
- Trade school and/or college coursework in a related field preferred.
- Flexible with long hours as needed.
- Heavy work capability, including occasional exertion of more than 100 pounds of force, frequent lifting over 50 pounds, and constant handling of objects up to 20 pounds.

Pay Rate
Pay rate: $22.00 per hour to $24.00 per hour.
