Maintenance Level I

Ayres Hotel Vista-Carlsbad is seeking a Maintenance Level I team member to support the day-to-day upkeep of the property. In this on-site role in Vista, CA, you will help keep guest rooms, public areas, back of house spaces, meeting rooms, and food and beverage areas in good condition while handling maintenance requests promptly.

This position also supports preventative maintenance and basic repairs across multiple trades, responding to work orders and guest room issues with a service-focused approach.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain cleanliness and orderliness throughout the property.
• Complete tasks assigned by the chief engineer, supervisor-on-duty, and hotel management, including requests submitted via work order.
• Check the PMS (Property Management System) daily for new maintenance requests and update remarks after tasks are completed.
• Follow specific oral and written instructions provided for assigned work.
• Respond to occupied and vacant guestroom repair requests in a timely manner.
• Answer guest calls in a positive, guest-oriented manner.
• Participate in the preventative maintenance program according to set schedules.
• Perform preventative maintenance in guest rooms, public areas, meeting rooms, kitchen, and lounge based on scheduled requirements.
• Test equipment and measure devices safely while completing assigned tasks.
• Apply paint, stains, and other finishes using paintbrushes, rollers, or sprayers.
• Support basic maintenance tasks including:
  • Plunging toilets and unclogging drains
  • Basic plumbing such as drain cleaning and fixture repairs
  • Basic electrical tasks such as changing lightbulbs, replacing outlets and switches, and resetting circuit breakers
  • Cleaning air conditioners and HVAC/AC ducts and coils
  • Replacing and programming televisions
• Maintain an inventory of maintenance tools and supplies.
• Keep the maintenance office, shop areas, and storage spaces safe, organized, and clean.
• Maintain and check smoke detectors and carbon monoxide detectors to confirm proper operation.
• Maintain guest confidentiality and adhere to company expectations.
• Work safely and conscientiously, following all safety policies and procedures.

Pay

• From $19.50 per hour (USD)

Experience

• Hospitality: 1 year (Preferred)
