Job Description

Spartanburg Hotel is seeking a PM Line Cook to support daily kitchen operations across all F&B outlets in Spartanburg, SC. In this role, you will prepare ingredients, cook to specifications, and keep your station organized while maintaining Autograph Collection standards under the franchise of Mainsail Lodging & Development. During busy meal periods, you will work alongside other line cooks under the supervision of chefs and help keep service moving smoothly.

You will handle core prep and line duties, including routine ingredient preparation for regular menu items and upcoming specials. You will also plate dishes for guest presentation, monitor food and prep inventory, and support a clean, orderly kitchen environment through daily cleaning, stocking, rotating product, and assisting with dishwashing as needed.

Key Responsibilities

  • Complete basic vegetable preparation, sauce preparation, and minor butchery of proteins
  • Work the line during meal periods with other line cooks under chef supervision
  • Perform daily preparation of ingredients for the regular menu and upcoming specials
  • Plate dishes according to chef’s specifications for guest presentation
  • Monitor inventory of food and prep, and inform the chef when new items need to be ordered
  • Ensure station organization and cleanliness, including stocking and rotating prep as needed and required
  • Participate in proper functions to maintain organization in coolers and other food storage areas
  • Assist fellow cooks as needed during busy seatings in the restaurant
  • Maintain a clean and orderly kitchen, including stocking and rotating product, daily cleaning of kitchen equipment, and assisting with dishwashing
  • Perform other necessary duties as assigned by the manager

Requirements

  • Minimum of two years’ experience working in a restaurant or hotel kitchen
  • Working knowledge of cooking recipes, different cuisines, and operating kitchen equipment
  • Strong communication skills (written and verbal), including the ability to listen and follow through on task requests
  • Experience working collaboratively on a team
  • Ownership in assigned work and attention to detail
  • ServSafe certification, or ability to gain or renew the certificate
  • Proven experience in producing great food
  • Organizational skills to maintain a neat and tidy station
  • Ability to work cleanly, effectively, and efficiently under pressure
  • Highschool degree, equivalent degree, or higher required
