Room Attendant

At The Federal Hotel Downtown Carson City, an Ascend Collection Hotel, the Room Attendant role helps maintain a welcoming, pristine environment for guests. Based onsite in Carson City, NV, this position focuses on cleaning and refreshing guest rooms and public areas to meet established standards and support daily hotel operations.

Responsibilities

• Retrieve items from shelves and storerooms, prepare the cleaning cart with supplies, and keep carts and storerooms tidy to improve cleaning efficiency.
• Clean windows, doors, walls, closets and fixtures in rooms, public areas and hallways; use ladders or stools for hard-to-reach spots to maintain a clean, presentable facility.
• Wash shower walls and tubs, clean toilets and stall walls, wipe exposed pipes, mirrors, sinks and walls to ensure sanitary guest and public restrooms.
• Restock towels, soaps and amenities; replenish literature and stationery that were removed or are soiled to ensure adequate guest supplies.
• Clean hard floor areas by hand to remove dirt and stained sections.
• Dust and polish furniture, fixtures and wall hangings; reach vents and ceiling corners to remove dust and cobwebs.
• Strip beds and remake with fresh linens, verify cleanliness of bedspreads and blankets, and check under beds for soil or objects.
• Inspect closets for cleanliness, wipe closet doors and handles, and restock supplies such as hangers, extra blankets and pillows.
• Vacuum rooms, public areas and hallways, operate vacuums up to 25 lbs, and move heavy furniture as needed to vacuum all carpeted areas.
• Inspect door and window locks to ensure they are functioning and report unsecured or unsafe conditions immediately.
• Inspect room equipment (TV, lights, faucets, radios, phones) and report maintenance deficiencies for prompt repair.
• Secure and protect equipment, keys and supplies at all times.
• Perform other duties as assigned by management.
• Report missing articles, items needing repair, damage or safety hazards to the Supervisor.
• Maintain a friendly, cheerful and courteous demeanor at all times.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent experience.
• No formal experience required for the position.
• Regularly push a loaded supply cart between rooms, carry tote trays with replacement amenities, arrange drapery and replacement linen, transport dirty linen to the laundry chute, and operate a vacuum.
• Communicate information about hotel services to guests, vendors, staff members and management.
