Room Service Waithelp (On-Call)

On-call room service position at The Kahala Hotel & Resort in Honolulu, HI, paying USD 16 - 17 per hour, responsible for delivering and serving food and beverages to guest rooms, setting up trays, and ensuring guest satisfaction.

Responsibilities

• Transport trays up to 30 pounds or push wheeled carts to deliver room service orders, maintaining a friendly and courteous demeanor to please guests.
• May also serve items directly in guest rooms.
• After setup, present a completed tally to the guest.
• Arrange room service trays and tables to the hotel’s standards in anticipation of incoming orders.
• Collect the guest check from the order taker and forward the order to the kitchen.
• When collecting food, inspect the order for completeness, including all food, beverages, alcoholic beverages, and condiments.
• Retrieve room service equipment from guest floors, service elevators, lobbies, and public areas.
• Lift and maneuver trays up to 30 pounds, or push carts to sort items at the ware wash area.
• Clean tables and trays carefully to prevent damage to tableware.
• Return condiments and equipment to proper storage areas.
• Prepare complimentary fruit baskets or other amenities and deliver them to guest rooms.

Requirements

• Must be available for AM, PM, Swing, and Graveyard shifts, with at least one weekend day and two weekdays per week.

Essential Functions

• Set up room service trays and tables according to prescribed standards in anticipation of orders.
• Retrieve the check from the order taker and place the order with the kitchen; visually inspect the pickup to ensure completeness of food, beverages, alcoholic beverages, and condiments.
• Retrieve room service equipment from guest floors, service elevators, foyers, and public areas; lift and carry trays weighing up to 30 lbs or push wheeled carts to sort items at the ware wash area.
• Clean tables and trays and return condiments and other equipment to proper storage areas.
• Prepare complimentary fruit baskets or other amenities and deliver to guest rooms.
