Job Description

In this seasonal overnight position, you’ll play a key role in maintaining a clean, welcoming environment and helping the hotel run smoothly across departments. Responsibilities

As a Night Houseperson-Public Area Attendant, you will keep guest accommodations, back of the house, and public spaces in excellent condition during the overnight shift, aligned with company expectations and Leading Quality Assurance standards (LQA).

  • Clean and stock assigned public areas, including corridors, elevators and landings, stairwells, balconies, patios, public bathrooms, restaurants, pool area, offices, and service areas on guest room floors.
  • Remove trash, wipe down shelves and counters, sweep and mop floors, and relocate non-floor closet items to the proper storage areas.
  • Provide linen supplies in a timely manner, stock floor closets, and deliver and retrieve items requested by guests and room attendants.
  • Transport guest luggage to and from rooms carefully and safely.
  • Check and help maintain equipment in collaboration with the Engineering department.
  • Respect guest privacy: before any room intervention (cleaning, maintenance, linen delivery, and more), ensure the guest is not present or that privacy is maintained.
  • Deliver in-room dining orders promptly and to the highest presentation standard.
  • Move room service trays and items from guest rooms and hallways to the appropriate location.
  • Communicate with all hotel departments to support teamwork and a collaborative atmosphere.
  • Coordinate with Front Office, Maintenance, and Food and Beverage to support room readiness and cleaning schedules for special events and high-traffic areas.
  • Follow health and safety regulations, including proper handling and storage of cleaning chemicals and equipment.
  • Wear the appropriate uniform and PPE for the cleaning tasks being completed.
  • Inspect furniture for dust, debris, foreign particles, tears, rips, and stains, and clean, remove, or report damages to the supervisor.
  • Inspect, dust, and clean frames, mirrors, fire extinguisher boxes, exit signs, air vents, windows, baseboards, corners, ledges, phones, drapes, doors, planters and plants, lamps, light fixtures, and switches.
  • Polish brass surfaces to a high gloss.
  • Maintain security of guest room access and hotel property; turn in any lost and found items to the supervisor.
  • Install cleaned or new drapes; make up cribs and rollaway beds and transport them to designated rooms; turn mattresses and box springs according to rotation schedule.
  • Maintain storage closet inventory of cleaning supplies, linens, and equipment; complete requisitions for low inventory items and submit to the supervisor.
  • Drive the company vehicle to and from storage and the laundry facility to gather and deliver linen and supplies.
  • Review and prioritize assignment checklists, ensuring all duties are completed and properly closed before leaving for the day.
  • Maintain personal appearance and hygiene standards that reflect a professional image for guests.

Requirements

  • Minimum 1 year of work experience in a similar capacity, with an understanding of luxury hotel standards of service.
  • High school graduate or equivalent vocational training.
  • Valid, unrestricted, and insurable Florida Driver’s License in good standing.
  • Ability to comprehend, read, write, and speak basic English including workplace policies, job instructions, departmental and safety information.
  • Ability to clearly communicate with guests and hotel staff.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including days, evenings, overnights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Ability to access and navigate each department at the organization’s facilities.
  • Physical ability for frequent walking, standing, bending, stooping, kneeling, climbing, crawling, and lifting or carrying items up to 50 lbs; ability to push, pull, grasp, and handle objects and equipment.

Location: Palm Beach, FL (onsite). Pay: USD 1820 per hour.
