Steward PM

THE UMSTEAD HOTEL & SPA is seeking a Steward PM to support daily operations in a fine dining kitchen environment in Cary, NC. In this onsite role, you will help keep the kitchen working areas operating in a clean, safe, and organized manner, with a focus on dish care, sanitation, and effective waste handling.

As the Steward/Dishwasher, your work centers on maintaining high standards throughout the day, including dish pit areas, storage spaces, and food service equipment.

Key Responsibilities

• Complete day-to-day cleaning tasks for the kitchen and dish pit areas.
• Help create and maintain the cleanest, safest, most sanitary, and organized environment possible.
• Support overall cleanliness in the kitchen area, including dish pit, waste disposal areas, storerooms, and food service equipment.
• Perform daily washing and sanitizing of china, glassware, silverware, pots, pans, and other food service equipment.
• Maintain daily floor care and keep trash, cardboard, and grease removal on track.
• Keep the dish pit area and service items clean, sanitary, safe, and organized, ensuring equipment stays clean and in proper working condition.
• Follow Umstead safety policies and procedures, use personal protective equipment, and immediately document and report injuries and/or incidents to management.
• When working the last shift of the day, properly break down the dish pit area.
• Maintain a professional, clean, and well-groomed appearance at all times.
• Maintain a positive attitude and communicate clearly and professionally in line with the Vision and Values.
• Assist with other duties requested by the Sous Chefs and/or Executive Chef.
• Attend departmental staff meetings as scheduled.
