Turndown Attendant
Job Description
The Jefferson Hotel is seeking a part-time Turndown Attendant to prepare guest rooms each evening in Richmond, VA. The role supports a welcoming, evening experience through consistent room presentation and attentive, professional service. Scheduled evening shifts require flexibility, and daytime training is provided.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare guest rooms for evening occupancy by turning down bed linens, folding back duvets and sheets, and fluffing pillows.
- Place turndown amenities in guest rooms, such as chocolates or breakfast menus, according to hotel standards.
- Make beds and refresh linens as needed, ensuring bedding meets cleanliness and presentation expectations.
- Complete light cleaning and tidying, including emptying trash, removing room service trays, and dusting surfaces.
- Replenish towels, linens, and guest room amenities upon request.
- Close drapes, adjust lighting, and create a calm, welcoming ambiance for returning guests.
- Retrieve and deliver guest-requested items promptly and professionally.
- Maintain confidentiality, professionalism, and respect for guest privacy at all times.
Schedule
- Sunday to Thursday: 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM
- Friday and Saturday: 5:00 PM to 10:00 PM
- Full flexibility is required to work any night of the week, including weekends and holidays.
- Training for this position will be conducted during daytime hours.
- The position may require availability for any shift between 7:00 AM and 11:00 PM for training or business needs.

- Strong focus on cleanliness, presentation, and consistency in a luxury guest environment.
- Professional, courteous demeanor with a commitment to exceeding guest expectations.
- Ability to work efficiently and independently while maintaining high standards.
- Comfort responding to guest requests and adjusting priorities throughout the shift.
- Prior housekeeping or hotel experience preferred, but not required; training will be provided.
- Clear communication skills and a polished, guest-focused presence.
- Ability to stand, walk, and perform light physical tasks for the duration of the shift.
- Reliability and punctuality, with the ability to work independently.
Compensation and Location
- Location: Richmond, VA (onsite)
- Compensation: $15 to $17 per hour
