Job Description
Seaport Hotel in Boston, MA invites qualified candidates to join as a Part Time Public Space Attendant. This onsite role offers an hourly rate of USD 33 and provides a collaborative, guest-centric environment. You’ll work in two-person teams under Housekeeping leadership to clean and maintain public areas including lobbies, restrooms, entrances, and exterior spaces while engaging with guests in a professional and warm manner.
This position emphasizes the hotel’s Mission and Values, with a culture built on courtesy, active communication, anticipatory service, and teamwork. Shifts include mornings and afternoons/evenings, with regular weekend attendance and holidays as business requires. The hotel operates 24/7 and seeks to support work‑life balance for its team. On shift, iPod Touch devices and radios help you stay connected and responsive to guest needs.

Responsibilities
- Maintain cleanliness across all public spaces, including front and back of house areas on the Lobby, Mezzanine, and Plaza Levels.
- Rotate hourly through public and employee restrooms, cleaning and restocking supplies.
- Clean, vacuum, and organize public areas (including exterior) in line with hotel standards.
- Keep VIP restrooms pristine and provide special amenities as requested by clients.
- Deliver attentive, quality service to guests as needed.
- Empty trash and transport to the compactor and baler.
- Maintain cleanliness of hotel office spaces and back-of-house areas such as change rooms, stairways, and hallways.
- Support the hotel mission and values in daily operations and complete projects assigned by Housekeeping leadership.
- Strip guest rooms of linen and trash when required; assist with cleaning and turnover of guest rooms.
- Ensure housekeeping closets, cages, and service areas are stocked with adequate supplies.
- Respond promptly to guest requests for housekeeping supplies and assist with designated cleaning of public areas, including restrooms, fixtures, vending areas, and storage spaces; handle biohazard cleanup when required.
- Maintain patio and balcony areas by sweeping or hosing floors, cleaning furniture, removing garbage, and cleaning doors and windows.
- Monitor supplies to minimize waste and respond to emergency cleaning needs.
- Perform deep cleaning tasks such as drapery, carpet spotting, wallpaper, and vents as needed.
- Live Seaport Hotel’s Core Principles in daily operations and take on additional duties as assigned by managers or supervisors.
Requirements
- Exceptional customer service skills and effective verbal communication.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and be mobile on feet for the full shift.
- Comfort using iPod Touch devices and radios on shift.
- Ability to perform repetitive motions (pulling, pushing, bending) for extended periods, including moving full laundry buggies and cleaning baseboards.
- Ability to work as part of a team and in a group setting.
- High School diploma, GED, or international equivalent preferred.
- Hospitality experience preferred and experience working with diverse cultures/backgrounds preferred.
- Fluency in English strongly preferred, with the ability to understand and compose instructions and short correspondence.
- Physical readiness to stand, walk, bend, climb, kneel, and handle equipment for 8 hours or longer per shift; capable of maneuvering a fully loaded housekeeping cart up to 50 pounds; exposure to cleaning chemicals.
Schedule and Support
The Public Space Attendant role includes morning and afternoon/evening shifts with regular weekend work. Holidays are scheduled as business requires. The hotel operates 24/7, including holidays, and seeks to balance coverage with staff well-being.
