Job Description

The Attendant Room Full Time role at Seaport Hotel in Boston, MA onsite focuses on cleaning and preparing guest rooms and public areas to brand standards, while supporting sales through timely readiness and personalized guest service. This position reports to the Floor Supervisor.

Compensation

USD 33 per hour.

Overview

The Room Attendant is responsible for delivering guestrooms and public spaces that meet brand expectations for timeliness, product quality, and placement. The role supports sales by preparing rooms quickly for resale to arriving guests, while maintaining consistently clean and refreshed accommodations and offering attentive guest service. The position reports to the Floor Supervisor.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain a daily target of roughly 15 rooms, ensuring cleanliness aligns with standards and applying skills-based training.
  • Perform thorough cleaning of public areas, including both front of house and back of house spaces.
  • Provide coverage to support public space cleaning shifts as needed.
  • Transport clean linen from the centralized laundry to linen closets and housekeeping carts.
  • Retrieve guest room supplies for room attendants as required.
  • Strip guest rooms of linen and trash when necessary.
  • Empty carts of soiled linen and dispose of waste properly.
  • Maintain adequate supplies in housekeeping closets, cages, and service areas.
  • Stock linen in service areas on all floors to ensure sufficient availability.
  • Respond promptly to guest requests for housekeeping supplies.
  • Clean designated public spaces including restrooms, fixtures, vending areas, storage spaces, and handle body fluid cleanup when required.
  • Clean areas by sweeping or hosing floors, wiping furniture and fixtures, removing garbage, and cleaning doors and windows.
  • Monitor and control supplies and amenities to minimize waste.
  • Handle emergency cleaning requests as they arise.
  • Perform deep cleaning tasks such as drapery, carpet spotting, wallpaper, and vent cleaning.
  • Uphold and promote the hotel’s Mission and Values in daily operations.
  • Complete additional duties and projects as assigned by department managers or supervisors.

Requirements

  • Exceptional customer service skills.
  • Effective verbal communication abilities.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Mobility to stay on your feet throughout the shift.
  • Use of iPod Touch devices and radios during shifts.
  • Capacity to perform repetitive motions such as pulling, pushing, and bending for extended periods (example: moving full laundry buggies, cleaning baseboards).
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team and in group settings.

Schedule Requirements

The position includes morning and an afternoon or evening shift, with regular weekend attendance. Holidays may be required according to business needs. The property operates 24/7, including holidays, and the organization supports work-life balance while expecting flexibility and potential participation in all-hands meetings.

Qualifications

  • Hospitality experience preferred.
  • Experience working with diverse cultures and backgrounds preferred.
  • High School diploma, GED, or international equivalent preferred.
  • English language proficiency strongly preferred.
  • Ability to understand and compose instructions, memos, and short correspondence.
