Banquet Set up

The Banquet Set up position supports the smooth operation of event service by preparing, maintaining, and restoring banquet spaces to cleanliness, organization, and safety standards in line with Avion Hospitality requirements. The role includes setup and breakdown of functions, readiness of storerooms for upcoming meetings or food service, and timely handling of banquet event order needs on site at Sheraton Indianapolis Hotel at Keystone Crossing.

Key Responsibilities

• Follow Avion Hospitality standards and regulations at all times to support safe and efficient hotel operations.
• Complete the correct and timely setup of all Banquet Event Order functions.
• Maintain high standards of cleanliness and sanitation across banquet function spaces, pre-function areas, and storage rooms, including carpets, walls, windows, and heating/air conditioning units.
• Keep the banquet storeroom organized and stocked with supplies required for meetings or food service functions.
• Be familiar with fire exit routes and extinguisher locations, and comply with all hotel safety rules.
• Break down event setups after completion and store equipment and supplies properly.
• Report hazards or safety concerns to management.
• Perform additional tasks or jobs as assigned by the supervisor or manager.

Required Qualifications

• Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience: Experience in a hotel or related field preferred (and/or equivalent education).
• Driving: Valid driver’s license for the applicable state and an acceptable MVR (Motor Vehicle Driving Record, property-specific driving).
• Communication: Ability to communicate information and ideas clearly.
• Decision-making: Ability to evaluate and choose among alternative courses of action quickly and accurately.
• Performance under pressure: Ability to work well in stressful, high-pressure situations.
• Composure: Ability to maintain composure and objectivity under pressure.
