Job Description

PHX Hotel Operations, LLC is seeking a Breakfast Attendant/Server to support the day’s first meal and guest experience at their Phoenix, AZ property. In this onsite role, you will set up, serve, and break down the breakfast presentation, manage beverages, and assist with breakfast, special events, and other catered functions while following required food safety, sanitation, and brand standards.

What you’ll do

  • Follow Safe Food Handling and Health and Sanitation guidelines, along with all Hyatt Place brand standards.
  • Set up breakfast items and replenish as needed throughout service.
  • Break down the setup, clean, and prepare items for the next AM shift or lunch shift.
  • Enter guests’ selections into the POS system, recording special dietary needs and special requests.
  • Note timing of meal progression to keep kitchen staff informed.
  • Maintain clean, stocked work areas that meet cleanliness expectations and department of health code requirements.
  • Apply food safety best practices as guided.
  • Provide exceptional service to property guests during breakfast, special events, and other catered functions.

What you bring

  • Experience in a hotel or resort environment.
  • A valid current Food Handlers Card or the willingness and ability to obtain one within 30 days of employment.
  • Responsible Beverage Certified (TIPS).
  • Ability to multi-task and work in a team environment.
  • Exceptional communication skills and reliable attendance history.
  • Ability to serve guest needs through verbal, face-to-face interactions.
  • Basic math ability including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Basic knowledge of food and beverage preparation, service standards of comparable operations, and guest relations and etiquette.
  • Must be at least 17 years of age, with reliable transportation.
  • Ability to work early mornings, weekends, and holidays as required by operational needs.

Tools and tech

  • POS system, computer keyboard, and calculator.

Physical requirements

  • Frequently required to sit and push/pull; constantly required to hear and talk.
  • Occasionally walk, climb stairs, stand, crouch/bend/stoop, reach, smell, and grasp and lift objects weighing up to 50 pounds.
  • Vision requirements include near vision constantly and close and far vision occasionally.
  • Finger dexterity required to operate a computer keyboard and calculator.
