Job Description

The Cage Operations Attendant assists guests with transactions and balances cash drawers within the Cage Department, performing duties under direct supervision. The position requires accuracy, courteous guest service, and strict adherence to cash handling policies in a fast paced casino setting.

Position Overview

The Cage Operations Attendant balances multiple bank drawers and supports guest transactions in the Cage area. This role relies on limited experience and established guidelines, with performance governed by company policies and regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Uphold Valley View Casino & Hotel Standards of Excellence as outlined in the Team Member Guide to Success.
  • Maintain positive guest relations, address complaints, and strive for guest satisfaction.
  • Greet guests in a courteous, personalized manner to provide attentive service.
  • Receive cash and tickets from guests and provide appropriate change.
  • Comply with established cash control policies and procedures.
  • Remove cassettes from kiosks, replenish and prepare for the next drop cycle.
  • Ensure kiosk, JXCs, Currency Recycler, ECD and other cash operations equipment function properly through routine cleaning, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
  • Handle kiosk guest disputes and ensure sufficient currency and coin to keep kiosks operational.
  • Assist vendors with installation and maintenance of multi function kiosks, ATMs, currency counters, bank issues, and related equipment.
  • Support network connectivity monitoring, maintenance and implementation for kiosks and ATM devices.
  • Train department staff on basic maintenance and operating procedures for kiosks, ATMs, currency counters, and related equipment.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area.
  • Participate as a team member to ensure a smoothly run cage operation.
  • Maintain awareness of facility details and events to advise guests and colleagues when possible.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management with professionalism and integrity.
  • Adhere to consistent attendance, performance standards, and company policies relevant to the department.

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or GED equivalent.
  • One year of cash handling experience.
  • Ability to identify, troubleshoot and resolve kiosk issues efficiently.
  • Strong ability to apply common sense and follow written, oral, or diagrammed instructions per established guidelines.
  • Capability to define problems with multiple variables, collect facts, and draw valid conclusions to perform duties.
  • Proficiency with mathematical concepts including fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions.
  • Ability to read, understand, analyze, and interpret English language safety rules, instructions, and policies.
  • Good judgment in providing information to guests and maintaining positive guest relations.
  • Must apply for, receive, and maintain a Gaming License from the Tribal Gaming Agency.
  • Must pass applicable auditions or skill testing and a drug screening.
